I am retired, buy my foods I use in bulk which store well. I also buy the fresh mushrooms, slice and freeze them. Take them out as I need them. I only buy what I normally use and do check prices before buying.

High quality and great prices. Good return policy. Best place to buy eyeglasses, electronics and tires. Maybe not important to some people.

Other than slice them do you do anything else before freezing mushrooms?

Best bang for the buck with hearing aides too.

This is Not "New" News!

Not a rumor, but FACT! COSTCO is coming to The Villages in 2025. A person in Corporate told me that a few weeks ago and a manager at the Altamonte store told me yesterday that Clermont store opens in November. Daytona Beach opens in 2024 and The Villages in 2025. Not a rumor. Fact!

Your post is not new news.
I guess you didn't see my thread from June 29th where I previously mentioned this exact same thing.

No problem in my costco

Great to hear. I like Costco a lot better than Sam’s Club. However, if Costco refuses to have a scan and go capability like Sam’s Club, I won’t be going to Costco. Scan and go is absolutely fabulous. I can just scan everything in my cart with my phone, and never go to the checkout lane! Why Costco resists this capability is dumbfounding to me.

I have never spent longer than a minute or so checking out at my costco. All bar codes pointing up and the cashier just scans them. No problem.

OK, happy for you. but do you spend $40,000 to $50,000 dollars a year at Sam's (almost $4000/month) to get $800-$1000 rebate every year as the post I replied to claims? There is a big difference between "spending a nice amount" and $40-50G's a year. ;).

We do spend less at Sam's since bj opened but at least half of our rebate comes from travel and restaurants and purchases from places other than sams.

But where? I was just looking at the land next to Hobby Lobby today and that is a huge piece of land, could easily go there. Of course I was just at BJ’s which is my go to store. Have never bought clothes at BJ’s before but yesterday I was able to get 3 swimsuits and 3 pairs of shorts on clearance which was a nice deal after losing 50 pounds.

OP stated Sams CC, one can use their CC anywhere. We use Chase for the same reason our points pay for all of our vacations.

Must be those $1.49 hot dogs up front?

. Round and round ...... the post that started this "sub-thread"conversation was the "A" poster, not the OP said he got $800-$1000 FROM COSTCO PURCHASES a year. Yes, obviously rebates can and do come from other purchases. I easily far exceed $1000/year on cashback, bonuses and rebates from CC's and other methods which has become a sort of "hobby" but not exclusively from Costco which was where what you commented on started. :ho:

Scan and Go at Sam's is wonderful but Costco not having that technology will not stop me from shopping there. I much prefer Costco than Sam's any day of the week.

Kirkland (Costco generic) product line is very good. The Kirkland salsa is the best store-bought salsa I've ever tasted. The frozen tilapia is excellent. The bedsheets are very good. The toilet paper and paper towels are good. Most of the Kirkland products I have bought seem to be very good quality and reasonably priced.

They treat their employees well. I've talked to multiple Costco employees and it's not uncommon to find people who have been there 10+ years.

Edit: I want to emphasize the importance of the above statement. If a company can be as profitable as Costco is, be competitive in it's pricing, and still treat their employees well, that's good for everybody. It also seems to be a rarity today.

Prices are decent.

Meat dept and the quality of the meat is excellent. One of the best places to buy meat I've ever been to.

Bakery is the best. Their cinnamon buns, bread, muffins, cakes, are all excellent.

Costco has pulled Rotisserie chicken. I separate out the portions and freeze the chicken for several meals. Great stuff and I have not seen that food item anywhere other than Costo. The chicken is delicious, tender and juicy.

Costco is the only store/warehouse I have seen that has Charmin toilet paper with extra wide sheets (4 1/2" wide). I've been using this product for many years and truly appreciate that extra 1/2". The TP is more stable on the holder. Believe me.....it is.
