I agree with Redwitch, Sam's is a little cheaper on their prices. They will also accept my MasterCard, which Costco doesn't. The Costco membership is also more expensive. So much of the merchandise is the same, I never felt the need to have both memberships. So my decision as to which one I would shop was based on these things since both are so close to where I live. Will be glad that Sam's is there when we move in this fall.

Nonie,
Costco is a warehouse store kinda like Sams. I think it has some higher quality products tho.
And an extremely reasonable pharmacy, you don't even have to be a member to use their pharmacy.
Here's the link if you want to check it out...

You should all have been in the Health and Beauty Aids industry and you would hate all those stores like I DO!! They are the most difficult, impossible people to deal with, they want what they want and they don't want to pay for it. So guess who sucks it up? Not the manufacturer that's for sure, the public does, eventually.

Ask me if I shop at Walmart, Costco, BJ's, or Sam's - no way !!

I emailed Costco and asked if they had plans to build near TV and they emailed back and said they did not plan to do so in the near future, and my return email said that I heard Sams was coming nearby, and did they know that 70.000 people lived in the villages? I encourage all of you to contact them and ask them the same question.

We have both Costco & Sam's, but no BJs.
Comparing Costco to Sam's:

I think...
Costco has the better roasted chickens. They're bigger than Sam's and they don't have that funny taste. (The bones make wonderful soup)

You can buy just one gallon of milk at Sam's. You have to buy the 2-pack at Costco. (2 gallons of milk = ~16 pounds = too heavy for me. I don't lift anything heavier than a pair of socks)

Sam's has much better party/restaurant supplies.

Costco has much better Holiday gifts.

Sam's has that dynamite mustard over near the deli case.

Costco has a better selection of cheeses and quiches.

As you can see, they're similar, but they're different. I think it all depends on your shopping needs. If you need one gallon of milk and some fabulous mustard, then Sam's is the place. If you need a roasted chicken and a quiche, then Costco is the place to shop.
These are just my observations, and are not intended as an endorsement.... :
(We tend to shop more at Costco simply because it's closer)

Caroline,

They are scheduled to open November 17th, but last time we looked they were ahead of schedule.

My intellectual take on this situation is;

Drum roll please.

Costco has the best put-together-your-own-broccoli-salad in the universe. (Just toss the bacon packet)

Sam's has them beat on lawn furniture and pole lamps and fountains. Oh my.

Always there for my friends in TV. ;D

It is Sam's. I have belonged to all of them, Cosco, BJs and Sams Club and we like Sam's the best!!!!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could have both Costco and Sam's here? The best of both worlds.
