Default Could use some good news

I've noticed the last few days on the forum have been unusually depressing. Many posters seem to be suffering from the blues, finding fault more than usual. I still plan to move to The Villages but how about a break? So, let me take this opportunity to share some good news and I hope many of you will also post your good news.

Here's my good news. My daughter showed up unexpectedly this week to celebrate the 4th with me. I only see her once or twice a year, so it turns into a special occasion each time. I'm very blessed to have two healthy, happy, self-sufficient children.

How about you? Any good news?

The good news is your moving to The Villages with your positive attitude and friendly disposition.

More good news is Tom & I booked a trip to Alaska to explore the vast wilderness of untamed beauty. Now that we're finally retired this is the first of many trips of a lifetime to come. Yep, we're living the dream in TV and going to see the world too. Life is good!

A psychiatrist once wrote that his definition of intelligence was a person who refused to be unhappy. I certainly concur and believe that is the human experience. But one cannot discount that events in our lives or on the national level place us in an unhappy mood and so we need an outlet use it and return to our normal selves (the ubiquitous primal scream). Unfortunately the fact is that while half of us are happy and the other half sad about something and so when the latter half let's out a scream it interferes with the former half's zen moment .

I accept and adjusted long ago to this fact and counseled many an employee who were having those bad days. I also agree with that psychiatrist and work hard at refusing to be unhappy

Great day for the pool today. Forecast 95 degrees and humid with a heat index of 111. Don't forget the sun screen.

Trust got back from walking a dog. While on the walk, I saw a woman struggling with her garbage. Had the pleasure of helping her and getting a very warm smile in return. Abby got puppy hugs for being such a good girl and waiting patiently. Think the three of us all left with warm smiles on our faces and in our hearts.

I like that.

I backed out of our garage one Thursday and promptly ran over the recycle bag. Half of it was spread out on the street, and the bag was stuck under the car. A gentleman in a golf cart stopped and helped me pick it all up and extricate the bag. We have nice neighbors.

The next week I did it again. Duh. I'm happy to say now I know better.

Congrats to Dee in MD for selling - it will be hectic for a while, but enjoy it. TV awaits your arrival!!
