I never thought of a golf course ambassador as a life saving hero. But I agree with your point.

If you are trespassing and playing alone on a closed golf course and have a medical emergency you might think differently. I think they have a list of addresses near the tee boxes and greens. If you have the big one near the 4th. tee box because you just had a hole-in-one they can say to 911 "He's on the ground behind number 1234 XYZ Loop". Otherwise someone finds you at the end of the week unless someone else trespasses too. :clap2:

If you get a hole-in-one and nobody to witness it because you are trespassing on a closed course, does it still count?

OK. So this morning there were a bunch of guys playing softball at Soaring Eagle. All ballfields are closed. Don't know how long they played.

No he’s not correct, they are closed. Just like the are after the starter shack closes. Closed means no play.

I accidentally played a course when it was closed a few years ago. I had played about six holes when the superintendent came driving over to me in a truck and asked, "Do you know this course is closed?"

I said no and apologized for being out there. But I did mention in my defense that there was no sign on the first tee indicating the the course was closed, and the tee markers and flagsticks were still in.

There was no one in the starter's booth but sometimes those guys are int he restroom so I waited for a bit and then took off.

I notice now that when the courses in my area are closed, it is posted on the first tee and flagsticks and tee markers are removed.

:confused: Didn't you mention once that you were a golf pro at one time or managed a golf course or something? I think I remember something like that..... if not I'm sorry. I've been playing for more than 50 years and worked at golf courses too. Never played a course accidentally. :icon_wink:

But, but, this is the villages where anything goes, especially parking wherever your little heart desires. Consequences, you can always call community watch, they will be right there to watch the violation, after all, that's what their name says. Too bad there isn't somebody to turn the sprinklers on full blast when they see a violator on the course.:ohdear::boom:

Living on a golf course, I experience rude people every week who think they can play anytime, ride their cart anywhere and totally ignore etiquette. I called the golf office once and asked why the ambassadors can put a small sign on the golf cart path saying: "Course Closed" when they leave. They laughed at me. Seriously, what is the problem? I had some clown driving all over my lawn last week looking for his ball. I don't mean 1 foot in from the rough. He was deep into my property on his cart. Oh Well, I still love my view and would never give it up.
