A little off topic but pickleball nets were secured by the rec centers to prevent damage during high winds. People cut the straps today and played to their heart's content.

Straps??? Don’t mean zip ties to the entry gate?

I had some clown driving all over my lawn last week looking for his ball. I don't mean 1 foot in from the rough. He was deep into my property on his cart. Oh well, i still love my view and would never give it up.

Pickleball

I didn't even think about going to the courts in the morning to play since they are closed. But I am headed out this morning to find a game to join.

Went over on Sunday to get in a game of pickleball and gates were zip tied close. Just turned around and went for a walk. First thought was idiots that will go out trespass, break leg or have medical issue with no one there to give or get help. Then thought of you get what you deserve, the facilities are closed do not use them. It was stated in a previous post that people pick and choose what rules and laws they want to follow or break. Well you suffer the consequences of your actions. Hope nothing happens but if it does, oh well!

Fine them! Just like the people who are cutting the zip ties to play pickleball.

Worse than fining is suspending their Villages ID card.

Got to Play

Went by a couple of venues no one playing. Next stop Eisenhower courts were crowded. So played about 45 minutes until the Community Watch showed up and informed us that the courts were closed and he was calling the Sheriff. Swat team showed up and we moved to Big Cypress courts they were busy also but then the storm rolled in before I could get to play anymore.
Seriously I agree with all the preparations and such but I think they need to look at the days before a storm like Christmas things are open but no staff on hand play at your own risk.

Rules don't apply to everyone for sure. Bet if they get caught they'll try and wiggle out of it though. I agree it's online & in the paper if caught revoke their privileges for a few months. Reminds me of the person who went around the barricades on the multi model path by Havana after the last one then got stuck in the flood. Barricade meant nothing to him. HaHa

How do you feel about lawn ornaments, speed limits, drinking while driving, saving chairs on the square and most any rule?

No Rules

Way to many rules

I played it on purpose, but didn't realize that it was closed.

Yes, I worked in the golf business for over 35 years and when we closed a course, a sign was placed on the first tee, tee markers and flagsticks were taken down.

As I stated after that, I noticed that they are now following that protocol when they close courses over here.

I saw quite a few out on the course behind our house yesterday. I authorized our little dog to bark at them. So trespassers in McClure, if a cute little white fluffy Schnoodle was yapping at you while you tried to concentrate on that chip shot, that was because of me.

Another case of rules don't apply to me.

"But there was no closed sign."

The vendor was not in his/her booth at the town square, there was no Closed sign, so I assumed everything was free for me to take."

There are written rules and unwritten rules.
