Default Medicare Lawyer

Has anyone used a local Lawyer to fight a Medical Bill that Medicare refuses to pay?

Google ‘Medicare dispute Florida’ and you’ll see many phone #s and info regarding an ombudsman who may be able to help.
I don’t advise hiring an attorney for assistance; Medicare is a Federal program which can be somewhat tweaked by each state & is usually administered under Health & Human Services Dept. Their rules are usually set in stone, though the wording of medical diagnosis can possibly be flexible. I suspect your problem is the medical script or records which do not meet the Medicare requirements for coverage. If so, your medicos may be able to resolve the issue by providing further documentation.
Their Ombudsman is where I would start. Good luck.

Most Medicare lawyers are involved in assisting people to apply for a disability claim. But, If you have a medical bill that Medicare refuses to pay, I would blame the Medicare provider who probably did not know the rules or did not submit the paperwork properly. Medicare providers are supposed to know what is covered by Medicare and what is not covered. They shouldn't be treating you for something that is not covered in the first place. I don't think a lawyer will be much help.

One problem is that the billing institution may not have used the correct codes. How do you get the correct code ?????
If you can talk to medicare maybe they can tell you the problem and how you can correct the bill.
Go back to the biller and see if they have other codes they could use. Ask for their social worker for some help. They should be interested in helping you as they would like to get paid. I have been billed incorrectly and a phone call to the hospital got it corrected. I have not done this (correcting codes) so I am guessing and maybe someone else can add some facts.
