Has anyone's Lanai screen ever ripped from a storm like this one?

One whole screen panel was just ripped off my lanai and now blowing in the wind. No idea how that could have happened -- I would think the screen would rip first, but the whole frame detached, as shown in my security camera. I'm out of town, so nothing I can do right now.

My screen door in our courtyard was ripped open by the son of a gun wind. Broke the hinge. Cripes

Picture from a friend up near Tampa (not in the Villages) so yes it can happen.

I read this great hint on using a zip tie to hold the screen door closed (at the handle) as the locks suck. Glad I did, as I heard a lot of people lost screened doors. Hopefully you can repair yourself? Good luck!!

I lost 9 panels this storm and 2 panels from Helene. 12 yr old cage.

I have been told that screening lasts maybe 7 to 10 years, and this has been my experience especially for roof panels, vertical panels seem to last a little longer.
