Default Courtyard villas / no bathroom window?

What do people do in a courtyard villa without a window in bathroom? I'm from up north where we Always opened windows for fresh air?

Our veranda windows are not 'openable' . Code requires an openable window or an exhaust fan.

Yup, I use both fans in the master bathroom, and I replaced all the original fans with more powerful versions.

Seriously? There's a reason it's called a "fart fan"! It's been standard equipment in every bathroom in the country since sometime in the 70's -- even Alaska.

Personally. I think that window behind the toilet in my Designer home is one of the dumber features of this carbon-copy house on a postage stamp in Florida. Just what I want -- a window from my toilet to my neighbor's dining room window, 10' away. First thing I did was buy some window frosting at Lowe's. Meanwhile, there's no cabinet there for spare TP. Brilliant thinking by some New York architect, no doubt!

The last thing your very close neighbor would appreciate is sniffing your bathroom use from an open window. That l’eau de outdoor toilet… We have exhaust fans that vent on the roof.

I would just point out that, for privacy and noise reduction, courtyard villas are designed where one side of the house has no windows. So, all the bathrooms would need to be on the other side of the house. Personally, I like it the way it is. I have no need for a window in the bathroom.

My new designer Dove home doesn't have any windows that open in the bathrooms either.

My condo had no window in the bathroom. Every other home I've lived in has though, including the one I live in now. The bathroom in the apartment I rented in my 3rd year of college was awesome; it opened wide, and I could climb out onto the roof of the overhang of the basement apartment's back door, and catch some much-needed sun in the spring.
