Will you die from contacting covid-19 this week?
Calculate your death score here – bigger number means more likely. 1. Add one point for just being alive for the 7 days of next week. (No matter how careful, there is always some risk a stray wind will blow the virus on you.) 2. Add 1 point for each day another person lives in your house with you. (Hey, if you die, it will be because someone near you gave it to you.) 3. Add 5 points for every person who went with you playing golf if they stayed 6 feet apart. 4. Add 15 points for every golfer who did not stay 6 feet apart. 5. Add 6 points for every store you went into for less than 10 minutes. 6. Add 15 points for every store you were into for more than 15 minutes 7. Add 15 points for any outside meal where people were near your table. 8. Add 15 points for every person at your table. 9. Add 50 points for every movie or theatrical performance you attended. 10. Add 50 points for every meal at an inside restaurant. 11. Add 50 points for any meeting you went too with more than 5 people for more than 20 minutes. 12. Add 100 points for any political rally or protest you attended. 13. Multiply your score by 20 if you are over 60 years old. (This is not about contacting covid-19, this is about dying, and older people account for 80% of covid-19 deaths.) 14. Multiply your score by 20 again if you have heart disease, obesity, arthritis, diabetes or any immune related chronic disease. If you are old with chronic disease, you are at the highest risk of dying if you catch the disease. If you have a high score, are you bound to die? Not necessarily. Someone near you has to be a spreader of the disease for you to get it. To find how likely that is, google: Florida covid-19 dashboard. To find how likely you are to cause someone else to die of covid-19 do a similar calculation. By the way if you hold a political rally and 10,000 people show up, add 10,000 points to your score. You know what you have to do to stay safe. Do it! We all want to be alive when the vaccine arrives. |

How many points do we add if we rioted and looted without faces masks, 50,000?

Singing in a church quire is the same as shouting at a protest or rally. Virus makes no value judgment and kills the righteous as quickly as the evil.

And, if you are like 98% of the people who get it, you will have little or no symptoms and will not die. A fact.

Just being over 65 don’t automatically make you at higher risk, now if you’re in poor health, smoke, and drink. Yes. Most people over 65 are in poor health, smoke, and drink like fish.

But, your are not like everybody else. You are old and you may have a chronic disease. This is from a Johns Hopkins Medical study: Google it:
******* Older Adults and COVID-19 According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eight out of 10 deaths in the U.S. from the new coronavirus have been in people 65 and older. An estimated 6% to 29% of people 85 and older who get COVID-19 will require intensive care. Here are some reasons why: |

Yes. If you are singing in a church quire, the people above you, below you, and beside you are also singing. Singing in a quire is vey risk for contact of covid-19. Death as a result of contracting the disease is a different matter related to your other risk factors.

The United States has less than 5% of the world’s population but more than 25% of global cases and also 25% of global deaths. Those numbers bother me. They are an obscenity.
To think that a deadly or life-altering disease is being politicized — for the purpose of further polarizing the country — is beyond my comprehension. I know I won’t get an answer to this, but I have to wonder how many of the posters who keep on keepin’ on, standing in their circle, think it is “great” or even funny that quite a few of our medical people in government positions have received death threats and/or have resigned. I am back in our home in Ohio now. We had Dr. Amy Acton as the director of the State Dept. of Health. She and the governor were receiving accolades, from voters from both parties, for how they were handling the virus, early. Dr. Acton is from Youngstown and she is a smart and kind woman who has overcome odds that many of us cannot imagine, including having been homeless during part of her childhood. Dr. Acton was trying to save as many Ohio lives as was possible, but she resigned when protesters showed up at her house, carrying signs that said such things as, “No Violence — Yet” and some of the angry, very angry, were carrying AK-47s. Dr. Acton is Jewish so of course, there were anti-Semitic signs and shouts, too. So now, this is what “Proud to be an American” is supposed to mean??? I wish those who insist upon inundating TOTV with incendiary thread-starts — with the agenda of diminishing the seriousness of the virus — day after day after day — would look up Amy Acton and see how her story makes them feel. (How I wish I did not already know the answer to that.) Boomer Last edited by Boomer; 06-23-2020 at 02:16 PM. |
