All those that live in the 466A area should mark this on your calendar and plan on attending to see what impact 4000 additional residents will have on this area. The article states that TV will have exhibits of the proposed expansion. Will there be additional commercial spaces? Will the road be widened? All good questions.

I am sure all of those concerns plus many more have been or will be addressed.

Are there any limits to the availability of drinking water for this area?

From what I have read, the Fruitland Park council is primarily concerned that they will lose their jobs once TVers vote them out because a higher percentage of villagers vote than what they are used to.

If the St. Johns River Authority can give Niagara Bottling a permit to pump (free) 484,000 gallons a day to put in plastic bottles and ship all over the USA...........there must be enough water.

I think that every expansion The Villages has been involved in has been successful. I am sure the same questions came about with each county or locality they purchased and expanded in. I live south of 466A and I have hope that it will all work out--creating more jobs and I welcome the expansion.

Fruitland Park and Lake County would be "short-sighted" not to approved an addition of TV on the proposed site. Additional tax revenue and jobs without the usual increase population to their school district. You can bet that the Developer has a "handle" on adequate infra-structure including water as mentioned by a previous post. This addition would Likely bring additional shopping for current TV residents living in the vicinity. IMHO it appears to be a win-win for everybody. Of course, there are always some opposed to economic development. Let it happen!

It will be very interesting to view the plans that might be shown by TV at the Fruitland Park meeting. The 620 acres that are within Fruitland Park are only about one-half of the area that TV could develop. TV already owns about 613 acres in unincorporated Lake County which is south of and adjacent to of the 620 acres in Fruitland Park. That's a total of about 1,233 acres into which TV could expand.
