I've heard you can get your ashes hauled, don't know about spread.

The honest answer is: it depends - on where you want to spread them. If on your own property - no permission needed. If on public or other private property - you absolutely need permission. This means NO for the golf courses.

Brought some of my dad’s ashes to a Patriots game and asked a security guy if I could spread some on the field after the game. Two security guys personally escorted me and a friend to the center of the fifty yard line post game and stood with their hands on their heart as I spread the ashes on the Pats logo. At Fenway park I poured some of his ashes onto the field from the top of the green monster. My dad wanted me to spread his ashes in many places he enjoyed, or that I thought would be special to him. Some of him is at just about every golf course in Western Massachusetts, his favorite fishing spots, beaches, etc…. Still have some left to distribute. I’ve already asked our daughter to do the same with mine sometime in the hopefully not very near future.

That would be an adventure, can you find a volunteer?

I've always said I wanted a 'Viking' funeral, nothing lavish, simple wooden boat, kindling to lay on, start fire, push boat to middle of lake. Sometimes, the old ways are the best ways!

I could have called it a Pirate funeral, and filled the boat with 151 rum, and lit that on fire. . would work a bit better in my opinion

Rocket Gibraltar (1988) - IMDb An epic and poignant ending. Still remember it. |

I saw a movie recently where a Viking funeral was a key element. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It was titled "What We Did on Our Holiday" starring David Tennant, Rosamund Pike, Billy Connolly, and three precocious kids. I highly recommend seeing it.
