Default pickelball

Hello All in TV, We will be renting a house for this weekend in the Village of Chatham. Can anyone tell me if there is any rec center that has equipment available for pickelball. We don't yet know how to play, but would like to get the feel of it so we will know if we would ever like to play when we become villagers. Thanks LB

Go here for all the rec center schedules, scroll down to outdoor activities. The centers with pickleball have paddles you can sign out.

read the rec center news, I think usually there are one-time introductory/beginner classes available somewhere

Every rec center has paddles and balls available. Most people play early in the am. Usually 7:30 am to 9:30 am. As a rank beginner, if you just want to hit the ball you may want to go after the regulars leave and you have plenty of courts to yourself. Mullberry is probably one of the closer courts to Chatham. The rules of pb are a little different from normal racket sports. That is why TV has a 3 step program to teach you the game. I do not know if there are any pb 101 lessons tomorrow so you can learn the game. There are numerous free lessons available when you come longer. The 3 steps are 101 , 102, and 103. You must sign up ahead of time. Look in the thursday rec news for days and times of the lessons.

PB is an extremely addictive game. There are about 15 of us villagers headed to Arizona the week of nov 1 to nov 8 for the national pb tourney.

Thanks to all with the help. It is now Sunday PM and we are back in West Palm preparing for work tomorrow. Had a wonderful time as always, and more than ever want to be full time villagers. We went to Miona lakes rec center Sun AM. No one on the courts, so we tried pickelball. It is addictive I am sure. A bit different than tennis, but we will get the lessons. Great exercise and a lot of fun. Best regards LB
