What you are seeing are turds from lizards or frogs. I use stickie pads to trap them.

I place glue boards in the cabinet, as well as poison blocks for mice and a bar of Irish Spring soap. I also place my cooking grates inside a plastic container (buy at Amazon) and place on the heat plates after cooling. That way if any critter gets past the defense, the grates will be without any problems.

I had the same problem, put mothballs on shelf underneath and critters are gone!

Try spraying vinegar or leaving an open container filled with vinegar on the bottom shelf. Hopefully the smell will keep whatever it is out!

We have had our grille inside the bird cage for over 17 years.
No problems.
The little specs on the outside of the grill surfaces are the anoles.
You will have them whether the grill is inside or outside!

Possum? A possum looks like a Chinese dragon head on a large rat body. Look before you stick your hand into anything.
Had a possum going after the grease catch and making a mess when it got dumped over. I attached chicken wire to the back and haven't had a problem since. Not worried about the little critters.

Default Grill poop

First of all, get rid of any birdfeeders if you have one. They are like a magnet for rats. I had a condo of rats in my hot tub wall, got rid of bird feeders, fumigated the rats. No more problem.

I had that problem as well. Rats live in the palm trees. I was cleaning my grill after each use but he still came around. What a mess! I had to set a trap. Problem solved! ended up throwing the grill away and buying a small portable one that I can wheel into the lanai after each use. Never had this problem in Ohio! Lots of critters here!

Totally agree mothballs seem to work for me along with lining the drip pan with aluminum foil which you dump after grilling. Good luck. Don't give up.
