AS far as putting the grill inside the lanai, I'd be concerned about the attraction of the grill being strong enough for a critter to chew through the screen to get to it. While I don't relish the idea of opening the lid and finding a critter, I would prefer to do it outside the screen, rather than inside.

The size of the droppings should tell you. Most likely lizards and should be of no concern.

Ok, I've seen anoles, lizards, chameleons, listed. How about iguanas, horned toads and last but not least, alligators.

If the poop has white on the end it is from an anole more commonly referred to as a lizard. Reptiles don’t poop and urinate separately the white part is the urine or uric acid. If it has no white I’m betting it is a mouse poop. Be nice to the black snakes and they will take care of the mice for you. Much rather have mice around your grill than in the house!

Moth Balls. Very simple. Spread a few under the grill next to the propane tank.

Ours were caused by palm rats that ate through the bird cage screen. We took down the tree and the problems went away. Note the palm trees are not trees, palms are members of the grass family.

The only real solutions are: Use an electric Ninja indoor grill, or Buy a Green Egg Grill which is completely sealed up once you close the lid. Anything else and whatever critter is for sure crawling around in your grill once you are not using it.

Don’t worry. I understand they taste like chicken.
