Default The haters

Wow, I now am finding out that a simple question brings out the haters who live in TV. All I wanted to know as a new owner to be was if yard sales were allowed. I was berated and criticized for my question. The same people that did that are the ones berating this poor individual about a question regarding a white cross. You people need to get a life and quit attacking those of us who are simply trying to figure rules and lifestyles out. I thought the purpose of this site was to be helpful not hateful.

Go to The Village woodshop and ask. They made most of the crosses, the woodshop is on Rolling Acres road.

Crosses aren't the problem the people are. In my neighborhood there are very few houses in compliance with the Deed restriction IF you read them and want to be a jerk and start turning people in for the stupid stuff. I'd bet if people pulled their restrictions sheet and truly read it they'd see what I mean. They don't bother me and I don't bother them.

Huh...the cross was a “torture” device (crucifixion) used by the Romans (and other cultures of the time) to slowly kill “enemies of the state”. The “criminals” were nailed to the device, that resembled a cross” and were hung on them till they slowly died of asphyxiation.

Yes! I want to know too! I think we should all get them and put them in our landscaping in our front yard! Then see if they could sue all of us!

You obviously don’t get it. People should be free to express themselves in the landscaping up their front yard. There are hundreds of various statues, etc. in the front yard of Villages homes. Why target a small 12 inch white cross?

If we all put one up, then they’d have to sue all of us.

Part of Tierra del Sol is in District 1. They don't enforce lawn ornaments. OP should know which district she's in.

There is a gentleman on Madero Dr.. From your location heading towards Morse Blvd. on Madero his house is on the left coming in from Morse to Madero his house is on the right. They are out on his lawn. I assume he still has them out there.

There is a gentleman on Madero who makes them and always has several in his front yard. Traveling from Morse Blvd. his home is on the right side before you get to Augustine. Stay safe.

Sorry, but we are not "free" to express ourselves with lawn ornaments. There are deed restrictions, which vary depending on which Village you live in. If you are lucky and live in a neighborhood that doesn't care and no one turns you in, good for you. Other neighborhoods have people that are picky about the "rules" and will turn others in. And you have the people who don't even live in the neighborhoods who have nothing better to do than to cruise throughout the Villages looking for deed violations and turning in others, even though the particular neighbors in the Village don't care. Little white crosses are not my thing, and I wouldn't be caught dead with one in my yard, but I'm not going to turn in my neighbor who has one. If someone does get turned in, then you have to deal with the Villages, and I imagine you get a letter telling you to remove it.

It is not a loss cause, it is a fundamental constitutional right that trumps any dumb deed restriction.

I was told to remove my cross from the ground in front of my house. So I removed the spike from the cross enlarged the hole and put it on top of my lamp post.

Default White Crosses

You can get the crosses on Madero Drive about three houses East of St Augustine on the North side of the street. There are always a half dozen of them at the end of the drive way. They are there for the taking. And Tierra Del Sol does NOT have deed restrictions about crosses in the yard. There is a paper with the crosses that explains the origin of the crosses which was in Frankenmuth Michigan.

You can get them at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Spanish Springs. Show your faith. Good for you.
