Question Bolted Down Safe Needs Moving

I need a recommendation for someone to move a safe from a home in The Villages to a nearby home outside The Villages. The safe is bolted to the floor and therefore needs to be unbolted and rebolted at its destination. Information about the original installer is not available. Thank you.

You might try contacting the manufacturer of the safe to see if you can get the directions for bolting down the safe. This will give you a lot of useful information with regard to removing it and re-installing it. If conventional blots/screws are used the removal and re-install should be straight forward. If however, custom anti-theft bolts or screws are used this could be much more difficult. You could try calling the local locksmiths to see if they offer this service.

Whomever you use be sure that they have the proper dolly for moving safes. If you have tile flooring and they show up with a dolly having small hard wheels there is a good chance it will crack. We have had several safes moved over the years and they had dollies with very large, soft, pneumatic tires to protect the flooring. There is a store in Leesburg that sells safes, you can search them and ask who they use as a lot of times they don't have their own people do it.

Nick of Time Moving. 407-392-0378. They did ours and were very good. I thought reasonable. Right kind of equipment and they are in the Villages every week.
