To me, "resort style" brings up memories of large pools, with shaded areas, water falls, grotto, slides, in-water seating, food+beverage service... they types of things you see at a resort hotel in a tourist area. Sections for kids far apart from adults. Also next to other amenities like hot tubs, food services, tables with shade umbrellas, large overhead shades, lots of seating, lots of lounge space, and amazing landscaping. Lastly, typically with a lifeguard on duty.

Here, the term means nothing. Sales pitch garbage words.
There are "resort style" pools that are round or square; with walk in gradients or steps. Little shade if any, with chairs and lounges. Food service is an overpriced soda vending machine. None of the other things that one finds in a resort. Why??? those things cost a few pennies more.

I was thinking something like the pool at Orange Blossom Country Club, which is what you describe. But you have to pay a membership to go to that pool.

The correct answer is it’ll be the first adult resort style pool, rather than a family pool. It’ll be like the pools at Franklin, Waterlily, Fenney, Riverbend, Homestead, Clarendon… just to name a few, but it’ll be for adults only whereas all resort pools down here south of 44 so far have been designated a family pool. I don’t believe it’ll be zero or beach entry like Fenney and (I think) Riverbend since the most recent resort style pools like Clarendon in Richmond, and Franklin in Newell, have steps to enter, not a zero entry walk-in with no steps. The depth will still be 5’ max.

Not everyone wants to swim laps in the adult pools. There are plenty of sports pool w lanes and flags. Both have their advantages.

No, many rectangular pools are NOT sports pools. They are simply adult pools with many residents WALKING sideways and making swimming nearly impossible for others. I am NOT saying that the sideways-walking residents do not deserve to do THAT type of exercise. I am glad that it works for them. I am just saying that it would be nice to have wider rectangular pools and several roped-off sections on the side for swimmers. I believe that Laurel Manor does it that way at some times on some days. That is the best of both worlds - for the occasional swimmer and the sideways-walker types.

That's why the sports pools have lanes for swimming. Laurel Manor is a sports pool. Neighborhood/Adult Pools are more for relaxation and socializing. As usual another confusing, contradicting post.
