Default Daily Sun - Way to go

This mornings paper carried a small 3" square report on the lower left corner. Not really newsworthy apparently to report the real significance of a monster tornado killing many and destroying the entire town of Moore Oklahoma. Oh, but your feature story about a lady delivering food to needy children couldn't wait until this horrible natural disaster was over. Where are your priorities?

I never have quite understood the constant nagging on the Daily Sun at all !!

They are what they are and I, for one, have never expected any more and have accepted them.

.....They make no attempt to be your first source of national news, and never made that claim. I doubt anyone depends on them for that.

.....They are not geared for late breaking news. I don't know, but guess they go to press much earlier than other papers.

I would doubt that you, or anyone relies on this paper to deliver news FIRST in the morning. They rely on the various wire services.

I feel that there is usually another reason for the dislike of The Sun.

Ten guesses. First nine don't count.

I like The Sun, but I do have the internet and the TV and my phone for all the breaking news.

I watched CNN late unto the night, horribly obsessed once again with another sad and disastrous event.

Let the Sun Shine.

Duck everyone. Here it comes.

That wouldn't be fitting with their well-deserved nickname of... The Happy Paper.

I think a lot of people like it, because it has a very specific (and myopic) point of view, it keeps things very simple and it primarily concentrates on those issues that don't take much brain power.

I subscribe primarily for the sports section and the often interesting special interest stories.

They do call themselves a NEWSpaper. Suggest that carries some obligation to report the news. Everyone does not watch CNN or follow the news of the world on their cell phone. A Newspaper has an obligation to report the news. This one exists to further their own greedy agenda, not to be responsible reporters of news. Pretty sad situation that that so many around here are oblivious to the difference between right and wrong and condone stuff like this.

I have a suggestion for those who find the local paper a bit beneath them....cancel your subscription and don't read it.

I am sure, given the chance, they would apologize to you folks for not measuring up to your obvious lofty standards.

Why you folks have this need to criticize and pan something you do not have any obligation to buy or read is a bit strange to me.

One can subscribe to any paper that they wish. There is USA Today, The Orlando Paper, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Miami Herald, among others. The beauty of our country is we can read what we want whenever we want.

How many of those papers or others can you get home delivered in The Villages?

Any and all TV station have covered this story all day. Any "news" that the Sun would have published today would have been old by the time it hit our driveways.
I think you are being petty..................

Why the ragging on the local paper....was it a lot different when you first read it and has it changed that much in all the years in existence ?

Any fans of The Sun feel courageous tonight? Any fans of the developer?

I guess I am here all alone. But happy.

Waiting for my check from Gary.

Honest question here.

Why is any criticism of the Sun, met with such anger and vitriol by some people?

Isn't it reasonable, for members to voice their displeasure of their own subjects?

Gosh knows, it is done on a plethora of other issues/subjects...by those who defend the paper.

Why do some like it and some don't?

Extremely easy answer.

Sheep over here....goats over there.
