Default Secrets to Longevity

There as been much discussion on this board about longevity and what factors contribute to additional years of living.

Repeated citations include diet (custom, specific), exercise, lifestyle, humor, and genes.

I have taken a phrase from a television commercial and reworked its meaning with this topic in mind.

"Stay thirsty my friend" meaning continue to live ,learn, love and have passion all the things needed to remember why we are alive .

So " stay thirsty my friends"

Today we heard that a friend here in The Villages had to return to Chicago to bury his mother. She was 105. She still lived alone in her own apartment and would go to the nursing homes dining room for meals. She enjoyed visitors and hadn't had any obvious dementia or memory problems and she loved putting together 1000 piece puzzles and reading the paper and watching TV. I would question our friend about her diet and her habits and she didn't eat anything special and didn't do anything special. We saw him a couple of weeks ago when he had returned from a visit to her and said she enjoyed good health and was her normal self.

I am sure there is a cause of death, but it appeared, bless her, that she lived until she died.

Hope we all can do the same.
