Last I heard population was close to one hundred thousand. But I think that is during the "season".

From the post "interesting facts about the Villages part 1" There are about 43,950 homes occupied in The Villages as of January 1st 2012. The current projected total number of home sites available at build out is 56,268.

Gary Morse's health care letter said 92,000+ residents.
At about 2.5 people per house......(do the math)..

I'm curious as to where/why you'd use a 2.5 residents per house figure? The Villages is a "retirement" community; more than two residents per home are, essentially, not allowed. In the "outside" world, I'd guesstimate that 2.5 residents per household would be pretty close to accurate. Here, however, I'd suggest that it's more like 1.5 residents per household. I've heard that it's more like 1.2! That'd be a pretty big difference in total population here! SWR

You need to add the number of new homes sold in 2012 to the almost 44,000 homes as of January 2012 and then 92,000 people in TV might be in the ballpark.

Why not ? Where is that stated? Several of our neighbors have three in the home.

I do not believe there is a rule of no more than two people per household allowed.
There are very many with more than two. Several have a parent or two living in their homes. I know some who are under 55 who have the home purchased in the parents name and are living withe the parent(s) and are listed as co owners. Btk |

I actually moved into my home with FOUR people. Me, wife, mother & mother-in-law. We lived together for over 2 years. As for where I came up with the 2.5 figure - I recollect seeing it in TV survey results once. If I'm wrong - I apologize but, I do know more than 2 people are allowed. And I think you'd be very surprised how many people move here with one of their parents (or more). There are clubs that have meetings in how to deal with the inherent problems.
