With this density of humanity, they need to keep open space. That was the reason Central Park was created.

The property on the rise between the polo grounds and Savanah Center has been staked out for over a year. Maybe that's where some new homes will be?

The property north of the polo stadium (Towards the Savannah Center)consists of the 3rd and 4th Polo Fields and the Polo Office building (which was just built witin the last few years). The Polo Club has been upgrading this area over the last few years.Don't think this will be changed.

Thanks, but I think we're talking about two diferent areas. I'm looking at google maps, and there is a large field farther north of the 3rd and 4th polo fields. It's bordered by Arredondo Dr, Caribe Dr, Carvello Dr, and Buena Vista. You can see the stakes and ribbons behind the fence as you drive up Buena.

I will believe it, when I see it. Until then, keep the Polo ponnies, as it is a nice afternoon out.

Don't hold your breath. We could all be hitting the dirt before he does!

I think I heard that Morse had sold the Polo Field to a private entity

I could be wrong, but I believe I read in the Sun a while back that those stakes were all turtle homes. It would be quite expensive to relocate all those turtles.

May he live long and continue to prosper. He is a genius, a visionary and I suspect a fine person. Long Live Gary Morse.

And if you read this forum. Thank you from my heart.

I think you are right. On the back roads to take our grandchildren to Disney yesterdau, I saw similar little white flags in open fields and a lot of mounds that previously I thought to be big fire ant hills. I am GUESSING that these flags and mounds are connected to some kind of land tortoise or turtle that the golf course called "Turtle Mound" was named after. I know them to be a protected species, because there was a thread some years ago as to why the "ant hills" were left on one of the courses and they weren't anthills but turtle mounds.

The area under questioning is environmental protect property.

As to the land available polo field ,etc remember the bison? What will be the decisive factor is pure economics. It is perfectly clear that the Developer will well develop.

I am from Ohio. In Ohio if some people have acres of land that they aren't farming, they put cows on it to keep the tax base lower until they use it for a different thing.

Those buffalo left town, and although I love furry creatures, me, Gracie, the positive and the defender of animals, have NEVER missed them. Not once, not one blinked back tear, not ever.

AND I agree that the developer will develop, That is what they do. The polo field may well be his selfish sport. I think it is classy and I hope it stays for awhile. It gives me great snobby feelings to point out to the folks back home that look down their noses at a retirement area that WE have a polo field, thank you very much.

Gracie, the snob.

Good Morning everyone. It is a cold, but cozy inside day in The Villages and Helene and I have been invited to a wonderful luncheon at someone's home we just love and I am bringing Johnny Marzetti. Thank you for the invite, Dillywho. Looking forward to the "Classy Ladies Club".

One thing about TV----lots of rumors "floated" around everyday. Human nature I guess---especially among seniors!
