I have two male mockingbirds in my back yard, and they fight continuously. One of them owns the big oak tree. The other one is occasionally allowed to perch in a little crepe myrtle, but not for long. The fighting mostly takes place just outside my Florida room window. It consists of the invader perching on the corner of the roof and the resident bird driving him away, sometimes knocking him to the ground. I fully expect it to end in mayhem but it never goes that far. Mr. Alpha Bird has quite a repertory of songs. The other bird I think only knows one song and when he starts his song it always ends abruptly.

We have a couple of squabblers too. They never seem to hurt each other. Fun to watch.
