Default Disobedient dog owners

I am surprised no one mentioned today's article in the Daily Sun Local Section Page C1 & C5 "Disobedient dog owners causing messy situation"

OMG! The epidemic is spreading!
Now even the Villages Daily Sun is featuring a doggie poop thread.

I'm surprised that the Tamarind Grove Postal Station wasn't mentioned in the article. It would have been an ideal place to publicize the fact that Community Watch is patrolling the postal station and asking dogs owners to find somewhere else to walk their dogs. Angie Fox was right in her post on a previous thread. According to Janet's Tutt's assistant, the Developer is paying Community Watch for their involvement in "policing" the TG postal station. TG is on private property owned by The Developer.

I'm told that all postal stations south of CR 466 are private property, owned by the Developer, with eight exceptions .... The following facilities are owned by the SLCDD: Ashland, Belvedere, Sunset Point, Poinsetta, Bonnybrook, Lynhaven, Winnifred and Bridgeport.

Smile Attention inventors:

We need someone to come up with an invention to deal with dog waste. It might be something that deals with it right on the spot so it doesn't have to be picked up. Something like a pulverizer/sterilizer rod. Invent it and get rich.

So the DEVELOPER is paying them for policing the area? WE are not paying them for this out of our amenity fees? Or out of any of our fees?

According to Janet Tutt's assistant, the Developer owns the property and is paying Community Watch to patrol it, and to ask dog walkers to go elsewhere. Gracie, I don't know where the Developer is getting the money. I did suggest to Janet's assistant that at the very least, signs should be posted. This situation appears to be unique to the Tamarind Grove Postal Station for now.

We've moved across the USA 11 times and never, not even once--including here--did a real estate listing say it was a "dog friendly" community.

We never needed to ask about whether it was friendly for us with our dog, either, because WE accommodate for our dog and the land he needs for running around and pottying on.

If the one-acre or half-acre lots we had, or the courtyard villa lot we have here were not big enough for the dog to get enough exercise on, then we'd buy a place with several acres.

Can't afford several acres? Then change course. There's acreage for sale outside of TV for a whole lot less.

You can't have your cake and eat it too.

And finally, the title of the newspaper article and the title of this thread got it right: it's the OWNER who's irresponsible and the usual problem, not the dog.
