Where can I dispose of empty propane tanks for a Coleman golf cart heater?

I recall researching this a couple of years ago. I believe they just go out with the regular trash...not recyclable and not hazmat.

You can also refill them from a larger propane tank. They won't be as full as the original, but recycling is always a plus.
