You can use this website to see past hurricane tracks and frequency for any area:

Very interesting. Glad to see there hasn't been anything stronger than a Cat 1 pass anywhere near TV except for the one Cat 2 in 1928. I wonder if they could even accurately measure hurricanes back then.

OMG! It looked like a hundred hurricanes were zero-ing in us, until I realized that tiny tropical storms were included, too! I can relax now. Whew!
This is a very useful tool. Thanks Batman!

there really must not be much of a threat. While I was at TV, I saw commercials on the television for homeowner insurance quotes....believe me, we never see anything like that back here in Pinellas County.

Can anyone suggest a site for us to check in case a hurricane is lurking in the "area?" For instance to track it's progress toward or away from The Villages?

Here's a really comprehensive page with all kinds of hurricane info therein:

Hurricane Spaghetti Models / Spaghetti Charts / Tropical Forecast / Hurricane Charts Models / Tropical Update

The Weather Channel web site may be helpful for you. Another idea -- maybe the Orlando television station web sites.
