Wi-Fi is available in the regional rec centers and the village rec centers.

Yes, you just need your Villages ID Number and 4 digit PIN

Yes, and no.

You need a resident Golf ID and password to access the Villages wi-fi.
I believe the phone number for the password is: 352-750-4558

Regional centers all have it, but not all others. Call the center you are interested in. When you get to the center your browser should open a login page that you put the username code and Password in.

The rec center WIFI was excellent and fast. Only gripe is I have to keep re-signing in every time my phone goes into sleep mode for more than 5 minutes. For some reason it doesn't "remember" your login for more than a couple minutes as does every other wi-fi system I have ever used. Usually you get a good amount of time before you have to log in again. That makes it very difficult to do what I need however (tested the location today) there is decent cell coverage in the room so I can use my phones hot-spot with my iPad.

This is typical of 'captive portal' websites. They take you to a disclaimer default page for terms and conditions. Wi-Fi sucks up the power on phones. There are Google apps that will keep your connection open. I believe Apple has apps also for your iPad. I've had no dropping issues with my Amazon Fire or my laptops with multiple OS's.

It doesn't randomly drop. The problem was when I stopped using it after maybe 2 - 3 minutes I had to go through the entire login procedure again. That has never happened on any public wifi especially as long as I remain at the same location. The problem that caused was when I went off the browser to display a photo or spreadsheet and then came back to the browser again I had to go through login. When on the speed and response was excellent. Was getting 40/30 down and up per speed test. The timeout is a bit too short.
