Default Do U need a water softener in TV?

There's one sure fire way to know.

Test the water your self, don't ask the guy selling them to do it for U.

A simple test kit I found here

recent water test results at TV

so.....does that mean you have "hard" water? The only reason I had a water softener in Orlando was because it helped keep my showers cleaner.

If the water tests by # of drops added to test tube.

Less than 4 is considered to be soft
4 to 7 is considered to be moderately-hard
7 to 10 is hard
greater than 10 is very hard

If it,s hard that's why U will see deposits and soaps R harder to use.

Default Do we need a water softener in TV?

Well. We have been drinking the water and bathing in it for five years and in answer to " do we need a water softener in TV."

We're good.

We took our two dogs to a new Vet on Friday. He told us that our dogs should not drink tap water. He felt the water could cause kidney stones in dogs.
Please don't shoot the messenger.

My Vet also said no tap water, suggested the reverse osmosis at Publix.

RO is great water, but it is stripped of almost all the good stuff to.

Health Issues

Reverse osmosis removes nutritional minerals (trace elements like magnesium, potassium and calcium) that the body needs.

Removing minerals drops the pH of your drinking water, which increases free radicals, shown to increase risk of cancer.

So you should rebuild your water if you use ro
Because reverse osmosis removes trace elements from the water, when the water is in your body, it tries to replenish itself - by taking trace elements from you!

It seems that many drugs, which we know are in the water, are not removed by reverse osmosis.

I prefer the softener. I had one in NJ and tried it here without one and did not like it so I installed one and am very happy.

I am sure the water will pass some kind of tests but the water still smells and tastes like chlorine. I did not feel as clean and I used more soap and detergents without the softener.

As far as I am concerned softeners are a personal thing. Either you want one or you don't. You will never convince a softener lover that he does not need one any more than you can convince a softener hater that he needs one.

Hey Jimbo . . . . . tell me more about your filter. Make, model, where you got it, did they install, etc. I think we may test drive one in the cottage while the Zinnia is being built.

I think the water is perfectly pure and healthy straight out of the tap.

We drink it and use it, but I still think we would have less calcium deposits on the faucets and shower walls with a softener.
