Default Living near preserve

Are there any negatives living near the preserve? Noticed a lot of bugs when house hunting near there?

Okay, I'll bite.

Are you house hunting this week or were you here in the late spring or fall during lovebug season? If so, the proximity of the preserve to a particular house is irrelevant because those critters are everywhere!

If not, then what type of bugs did you see so many of?

We have an open view with preserve on both sides as well as the lake. There are no bugs to speak of except when we will suffer with love bugs. We do have a bird cage so if there are any annoying creatures flying they do not impose on us but it is seldom there is any swarm of bugs. And the birds on the preserves are magnificent.

be mindful that in some areas where there is water/pond there can be other critters as well.

outside of lovebugs, I don't see many critters around at all.
To the contrary, I see fewer bugs here (flies, mosquitos, etc) than I have anywhere else I've lived.. I think the anoles eat 'em all up.
I don't live near a preserve though.

Default Snakes!

We see various snakes a lot near our "swamp".

I would have loved to live near a nature preserve but the lot premium was out of my budget range. The wildlife that comes to the area would be very interesting to watch from the lanai.
