Default Does anyone know of a good publishing house

Hi,
I am putting the finishing touches on my manuscript. The stories are Golf Murder Mysteries with the murders being caused by people who were breaking a rule of golf.
Two of the stories takes place in the Villages. If anyone knows of a good solid publishing house to send the manuscript to that would be great. Hopefully an honest publishing house. Or even advice on how to publish, but, not on amazon. I appreciate the help.
In the meantime, for your own safety, its best you learn the rules of golf.

I always yell FORE as I tee off, I have a KILLER tee shot, OK sorry for the pun. (I could not resist)

I have no experience in this area, but I have seen posts and articles on the internet for SELF PUBLISHING, so if you do not get any other replies, you might look into this option, I would also suggest asking a librarian they my be able to help.

There are several writers related clubs listed, they may be able to help.

I do not believe he writes books these days. He makes up a rough outline and hires others to do the writing

I think you're not getting any replies as this is an extremely complicated topic. Took me 2 years of educating myself & at the end I found a publisher by accident. Best way to educate yourself is to read all you can about the pros and cons of publishers vs. self publishing on the internet. The writers' groups are good for polishing writing--which you might need--but not too many people there have publishers. Good luck!

Default Mark Newhouse

Get in touch with Mark Newhouse. He has run a writers' group for several years, and he's published a number of books. He's probably in the phone book. Or you could probably reach him through the writers' clubs. He's also incredibly helpful with wanne-be published authors.

It is very difficult to find a reputable publisher to consider your MS.

The best approach is to get a literary agent who knows the market. A reputable agent with a track record. If anyone asks for money they are scammers.

One good source to start with is AgentQuery dot com.

But, you will need an 'outstanding' query letter to send them first. They'll know from your query letter whether you can write. Google 'query letter' for more info.

After reading your post it sounds like you've written a collection of short stories. I've found marketing short stories to be a hard sell. One of my books is 80,000 words of short stories that were all published in various big magazines, but no agent was interested.

So I published that book on Amazon, along with 17 other titles, both fiction and non-fiction. Agents and publishers work at the speed of frozen yogurt and I like the instant gratification of Kindle. Better royalties, too.

But, I think you said you weren't interested in Amazon.

In any event, best of luck with your new adventure! Let us know how it goes.

Default publishing

So, what's your goal? If you, perhaps at first, just want to see your work in print, try Amazon self-publishing. You may even get a few buyers from that service.

My daughter is a successful novelist, with an agent. Even so, she can paper her walls with rejection letters.

I just saw an ad for self publishing:
Palmetto Publishing Group
Here is the short url: All-In-One Self-Publishing: Printing, Editing & Marketing | BookBaby

Hope this helps
