Default Does anyone play golf in the severe heat?

I saw it was 99 degrees in The Villages a couple of days ago. Just wondering if anyone plays golf in that severe heat of the day. I can't imagine being outside for more than 5 minutes, let alone playing a round of golf.

Yes, the ladies that I play with do. They play at 10:00 a.m. to try to beat the heat but it's still really hot. I do not play in those high temperatures as my body reacts to the heat badly. I get dizzy and feel ill when I'm out in it for very long despite drinking plenty of water and gatorade.

Some people do adapt to the heat and play with no problem, I'm not one of those people. I opt to see if a t-time is available very early in the morning or after 5:30 pm in the evening.

For us, hot is good, cold is bad. We would prefer 95 degrees to 50 any day. Cold is for up North!

I've been getting a tee-time around 8 or earlier on executive courses and after 5 once a week on champion. I drink lots of water, have fan in golf cart and park in the shade as much as possible.

I do.
I walk the execs and carry an umbrella and stay under it except for tee shots and iron play. I putt with one hand. I only carry a 6,9, putter and driver.

this is my umbrella

Play 18 holes 3-4 times a week. Drink water before we even start. Yes its warm and humid, but adjust to the weather. Drink 5 waters during round, plus eat cut up oranges. "Life is good" in The Villages!!

We are from Houston and we think the temperature here is "cool". I play in a Sunday group that tees off at noon-best time of the day

I like the warm climate here in TV, my sweetie call that heat. Anyway, sometimes I play when it is 95, but sometimes I play golf at the computer, too, depends how I am feeling or mood. Already set up Tee-times I always play (my personal rule).

Yep. Pretty much every day, morning and afternoon; trying to get as much in before shoulder surgery on Thursday because there won't be any golf for at least 5 months.

I played yesterday at 4:30 to appease my little golf friends who don't seem to mind the heat! It was lightening when we got to hole 5 and I was delighted to see it! Temp was 100° according to my iPhone! Don't plan to do that again!

Walked Truman today starting at 11:30. Pretty intense...especially that uphill finish. I prefer evening golf, but I'll play any time!

Ditto. I'm from New Orleans and this weather is great for golf.
