Not having animals does not eliminate self-entitled jerks who think they should have free access to your property and possessions. It does not preclude vile and disgusting individuals from all manner of horrible things. So your answer is wrong. The correct answer, imHo, is, "we should all live together with respect for each other and stay off property you don't own." If we could simply do that there would be no need to concern ourselves with the dogs sniffing, snooping, peeing and pooping anywhere but in their own yards. |
I own too, and that is what makes me so dog-sensitive. I also care for my neighbors, who actually came into my home for life-saving measures. Several of them own dogs and because of what they did for me, I would let their dogs pooh on my lawn till kingdom come. But, oddly enough, not one of my neighbor’s dogs ever comes onto my property without invitation. And the dogs of these dear people behave similarly to them. When they come to visit the dogs act as therapy dogs although they are all just trained as family pets.

Poop Picking Class
The Rohan rec. center will be featuring poop picking classes for all dog owners. Owners are asked to bring their own baggies to the class. The color blue is recommended so that all persons carrying a blue bag will be seen as responsible poop pickers. The yellow and beige bags are just a fake out.
Our speaker, Mr. Brown, will demonstrate the various techniques of bending over correctly to perform the 1 scoop, 2 scoop, and 3 scoop method of picking up poop. These methods will accommodate owners with no physical problems, knee and hip problems, and back problems. He will also demonstrate the mpp tool, this is the magic poop picker that works like a scooper on the end of a cane that can be finger operated. Its great but requires practice. Please don't bring your dogs as Mr. Brown will have 3 dogs for the breakout classes to practice the various methods. We know demand will be very heavy, so classes will be Mon thru Friday from 2pm to 4 pm. After completing the class and passing poop picking 101, students will be given diploma's and medallions for their dog collars noting they have graduated. In this way they can proudly display their skills to others. Dog owners without these medallions may be single out by residents as someone to keep a closer eye on. Happy Picking, Up,Up, and away! |

Style…
Frustrating topic, I know. If you’re an observer it is fun ( after several deep, calming breaths) to watch those few, selfish dog owners who don’t clean up after their dogs. The most experienced ignore the poop with a nonchalance that is only seen in nearly nude runway models. Less experienced peeps checking their pockets for bags they never brought, may lecture the dog about the impolite behavior and march off with the dog in tow. The folks who let their dogs run as they follow (especially at the Springdale power plant path) make sure enough distance is kept between themselves and the dog that they can deny to anyone they actually saw the dog poop less they actually have to get out of their carts. I see this version as having more of an arrogant and entitled spin than all the others. Although all of them have disregard for their neighbors and I’m stumped as to what the perps could be thinking. It’s obvious to anyone that the emperor has no clothes and the darting eyes acknowledge it. Without knowing what a poop perp is thinking, the evidence shows they don’t care. They will never read this blog and some will even tantrum if called out as the OP described. That’s what gets under the skin of us that do and have to clean up for them.

Hope scooterstang is not suggesting anyone who values their own life tries something as stupid as that. You never know what the other person might do to defend themselves. Very bad things could happen. |

I have scooped poo before & placed in offender’s yard or sidewalk. They give the complying dog owners a bad reputation. |

Sorry you are so wrong, dog owners need to walk their dog on their own property to poop.
Do you get it now?? |

And guess what? More times than not, she'll poop again (it's what dogs do when you take them for a walk...) And we proceede to clean it up. But sure... Y'all be faux "tough guys" and turn on sprinklers or alarms, shoot BBs at people and run up and confront them... https://pics.me.me/lltake-things-tha...x-35311723.png |

Oh, and yes, you are WRONG. We ALWAYS walk our dog in our own yard first, before venturing out... Most times, she does her business there. Sometimes, not... Maybe you're able to crap on command, but I've found most dogs haven't mastered that trick... Now, will you admit that the blowhards who swear they'll turn on their sprinklers form their phones or set of their alarms or shoot BBs at dogs are full of crap? |

My dog has never gone in the street and we'll let her go a foot off the curb. If that makes us horrible people, I'll proudly wear that badge... |

As to the sprinklers, alarms and BBs, I believe it is wrong to take your anger out on the dog. The owner is 100% responsible for the dog and it is the owner who deserves the consequences of their actions. |

I failed because I didn't first knock on the door to ask permission... I'm a horrible human being. I don't know how I'll live with the shame... Quote:

Hypothetically, if fences were allowed and you were walking your dog in the street, as you do, and they squatted right there in the gutter, what would you do? Would you let them complete their function in the gutter or carry them over the fence and into the yard? I ask because where there is a property line there is an implied imaginary fence for every lot. In my case my lot is on a corner with a sidewalk on one side. It is a major traffic thuroughfare with lots, and I mean lots of dog walkers. Most make more than one trip per day. Most allow, and many actually direct, their dogs into my yard to sniff until they find the scent that triggers the urge to purge. The few dogs that are not alowed to sniff the grass never seem to need to go. Funny how that works. You are only walking one dog, so to you its no big deal. But I get, quite literally, dozens of poo and pee dumps daily. I can be watching Barney Fife, trying to enjoy my chili dog when some SOB drags his dog into my yard and let's him/her deposit a familiar looking heaping helping right in plain view. At that moment my normal warm feelings toward my fellow man seem to cool somewhat. So you see, it's not about you and your small indiscretion, it's about the innumerable times it happens each and every day throughout the community and through the country. |
