People are gross? Have you told your friends this?

Mountain OUT of a molehill. WHEN was the last time you drank from a drinking fountain?

Actually......there are more germs where you touch the fountain to make the water come out than on the spigot. Our science classes test this every year at our school. If you only knew what you were touching sometimes.....

And dogs treat humans far better than humans treat humans. I guess that would lead one to believe that dogs are better than humans. Ta Da! What a great way to start the weekend.

I'd rather drink at the fountain after my dogs than after a lot of people I see using the fountain. So each his own.

I love my sweet baby dog but I don't want to drink out of the same place she drinks.

I'm with you. Drinking fountains are for people, not dogs. If you want to give your dog water, bring a water dish and fill it up from the fountain.

Mine was partly in jest.
Drink from the stream of water and don't lock lips with the bubbler.
When's the last time someone got sick drinking from a fountain after humans or dogs?
Our dogs BTW don't go to public places so no need to worry and no I have never raised my dogs up to reach a fountain. I have offered dogs a drink from the STREAM from my water bottle if their owners did not think ahead.

Forget the people; it would be bad for the dog!

Seriously, though, to be reasonable and a good neighbor... I wouldn't let a dog drink out of a water fountain anymore than I would put my mouth on a fountain--both for purposes of hygiene.

I don't drink out of our dog's bowl (too gummy), and I won't let him sip out of my glass. He might get hairs in the wine.

Good grief. Where is some common sense? If my dog ever needed a drink of water while away from home, I got a paper cup and filled it at the fountain for the dog to drink from, or I asked a bar or restaurant for a to-go cup of water and let the dog have that.

There is no reason to have a dog drink out of a fountain meant for humans.
