I guess we know how to take care of our lawn better than others... Is that how this works? I mean there are some here who insist they know how to train their dog better than I, so I guess this is the same thing, right? |

And it's quite easy to identify the "pet haters" on this board... |

Have you seen people lose their everlovin' minds when a dog dares poop on the sidewalk in a Town Square? It makes this thread pale in comparison... |

For those who believe the easement is public property, my guess is that it will be ok for me to set up chairs, an umbrella maybe cooler and invite friends to sit with we in your “easement “ |

Impressive. By any standard. |

It's not an easement as you say............it's just probably not your property. To find out the facts......looks at the county/city records. Most streets' property in neighborhoods in TV extend wider than the hard surface. Most homeowners have sprinklers right up to the street.......this is not homeowner property. As suggested, look at city/county records for your true property line. |

Dot is probably in error (not knowing dot's address). Streets in TV vary, but they usually extend 12 or 15 feet from the middle of the road. What's the road width??.......20 feet.......so there could be four or five feet of grass on each side. |

I'm not a dog hater and it isn't earth shattering if someone's dog takes a crap in my yard as long as they pick it up (which isn't always the case) but the fact remains that, at least in some neighborhoods, if you are assuming it is fine to walk your dog on the front edge of someone else's lawn because it is a "right of way" you are probably mistaken. Except in Retiredguy123's neighborhood. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...img-4481-a.jpg |

What street??.............don't have to give the address. That doesn't look like a city/county map. Jus interested. UPDATE: Oh, it's not in The Villages. |

I'm looking at Villas in Hawkins on the following streets.......none of the property lines go to the street: Tate Elise Mizell |

What are you looking at? I was looking at my plat map and my property markers. Another poster said that they that the right of way extended 10’ from the street. If someone walks their dog 10’ into my yard it is going to be crapping in my lanai. Just saying. Not all lots and neighborhoods are created equal. |

Easements and Rights of Way Easements and R.O.W IN FAVOR OF THE DEVELOPER (bolding mine) are hereby created for the construction, installation and maintenance of utilities such as.... Such easements and rights of way shall be confined to a 7.5 footwidth along rear lines, a 10 foot width along the front line, and a 5 foot width along the side lot lines. So, these easements are for the developers and utilities use. Not the random dog walkers. |

On the County site.....you are so new, the road is not in. BUT.......I can measure your front property line to the property across the street. Looks like 35 feet. Most roads are 20 feet. I would bet $1, you will have 7.5 feet of grass to the street which is not yours. Which is very normal in TV. Emma Place is not in the County word search tool yet, but you can go to their map. Some streets around you are in the map and you can see the 20 foot road scale. Here is the county link. Home - Sumter County Property Appraiser : Sumter County Property Appraiser Good Luck. From that point, then you can talk easements and right a ways. :ho: |
One definite fact that this thread points out is that many homeowners dislike dogs defecating on their lawns. No dogs did that in my yard up in New England. Cows, horses, sheep, etc. do not have as much harmful bacteria in their feces as dogs because they are plant eaters. I can tell you one thing, I garden extensively on my hands and knees and I do not want dogs defecting on my grass as I don’t want to be exposed to any harmful bacteria.

First of the month! Must be forum advertising rate week. That always brings a new big poop thread to generate lots of posts. :D.

Be thankful there are no Canada geese here to speak of, the mess they make is not picked up by anyone and be glad that most dog walkers do pickup after their dogs. If this is not for you don't buy here cause it ain't gonna change.
