Default Dogs in Tamarind Grove Green Space

There is a posting on the bulletin board stating that the green space is not to be used for dog walking. Please do one thing or the other, remove the sign or enforce the ban. As it currently stands, there are lots of people flagrantly violating the rules.

Is the bulletin board in a place where everyone can see it? It might just take some time for everyone to see it. There's a bulletin board at my postal station that I almost never read. (I don't have a dog.)

How would they enforce the ban? Would that be the job of Neighborhood Watch? They can't be everywhere at once.

[QUOTE=Villages PL;976354]Is the bulletin board in a place where everyone can see it?

The question is, is it low enough for the dog to read it. The owner may or may not care,

If it's too low, dogs might sniff it and then pee on it.

They might need to have a big free-standing sign in the middle of this green area that says, "No Dogs".

I've been in Bonny Brook over 10 years. I have never read the bulletin board.
And, unfortunately, I don't have a dog to read it to me.

Sadly, you're barking up the wrong tree.
The people of TOTV have no authority to enforce the ban or remove the sign.

The Villages addressed this topic last year, after some residents decided Tamarind Grove Mail Station would make a convenient dog park- to exercise their dogs off leash. When the mail station parking lot became congested with people from other villages coming with doggies and some loose dogs caused problems, local residents complained to the powers that be.

For a short time, about a week, community watch drivers were stationed in the parking lot-all dog owners were asked NOT to use the area as a free run for their dogs. They discouraged taking the dogs there at all.

After more complaints, the new 'rule' was relaxed, allowing owners to take a stroll in the green area with LEASHED dogs, for quiet enjoyment. (Droppings were expected to be picked up.) Evidently, some kindergarteners can't be given an inch of leeway, for the 'green' privilege has been abused again (by some) so now it is off limits in general for dogs- per notice. I think there was also an article about it in The Daily Sun as well. People KNOW.

Unfortunately, we have residents who don't follow rules and don't care if they alienate people.
Just be glad they're not related to you.

Although printed on "Villages" stationery, the postings are unsigned, and I tend to ignore them since I do not know where they originated.

Really is too bad that a few uncaring individuals have to ruin it for the majority of folks who are diligent in always picking up messes. Please, everyone, keep in mind that this is a very small minority that abuses the rules regarding dogs. Neither I, or anyone I know would EVER leave a dog mess behind! EVER!!!

I have seen the mail staions in several villages that are the favorite spot for some dog owners. When I see one at our staion I tend to linger which makes some of the self conscious and they pick up their dog and leave. The hard core could care less and neither do I EXCEPT for the ones who do not clean up after their dogs.

When all gets said and done if they all cleaned up after their dogs it would be a non issue....for most of us.

I still do not know why or understand why there are so many resident dog owners who just will not use their own yard....and are perfectly comfortable using yours or the mail station.

We have a dog and we use our yard.......my favorite sport? Getting to the sprinkler control when I see one headed for my yard.....

What makes you think the Dog can even READ?

I love dogs but some dog-owners have lost any semblance of sense or manners.

Not only are they embarrassing themselves and responsible dog owners, I do believe they are embarrassing their dogs.

If you actually SEE folks with dogs walking where they shouldn't, or not picking up a mess.....PLEASE! PLEASE! dont let it go.....take a picture! Talk to them! Embaress them!!!
Why do folks just rant on here to owners who are responsible? Expose the ones who are doing the deed!....it does no good to complain here. The very small percentage of villagers who are on TOTV are most likely NOT the ones violating the walking and poop rules.
Get pictures and post them here!!! The dog owners want it to stop just like the non owners want it to.

Do you also ignore "Wet Paint" signs if they are unsigned? You never know where they originated.

I keep hoping someone will invent a remote control wand for my sprinkler system! I am usually not at all close to the controller when I want/need to be!
