Smile Donut King in Leesburg

I've been going to stop at the Donut King in Leesburg (Southern part on Rte 27) for a long time; i.e. years, but never did until the other day. I was stunned by the huge variety of donuts and pastries available. I've never seen anything like it before. It's worth checking into it if you like donuts and pastries. I wish I had stopped there before.

Great huge fritters (apple, , blueberry, etc.), and their cronut is my favorite donut of all time. It's half donut and half croissant

The Bear Claw is the best. Just so you know The Weight Watchers Police are hiding across the street in the bushes, waiting to Rat you out to your spouse! I know first hand. I've been busted!!!!

Most anything is better than DD nowadays. Remember back in the day when each DD store made there own donuts and they were good, this was 40-45 years ago. I wish there was a good shop in the Villages.

And the variety offered at DD seems to keep getting less and less. Management seems to be destroying a great company

Well partners oh, I guess the big secret is out that if you go out of the bubble there's plenty of the world to see. Oh, don't tell too many people as I hear when you get a horde of villages they descend upon a place and ruin everything for everybody else

It seems strange to me that a business who is selling out of products wouldn’t make more??
More products = more money
Wouldn’t you want to make more money?

Default DD isn't the same but will check out Donut King

I agree with many of the comments about DD not being the same. This changed years back when the DD bakers went on strike and forced DD to make donuts through its regional warehouses; never the same. Now the newer method is to freeze the product until it comes to a shop and use a special oven to bring the donuts to its end product. My wife and I owned a small donuts shop back in Massachusetts and we had one of the original DD bakers and wow those donuts were unbelievable. Will definitely try a Donut King donut
