Default Doorbell keeps ringing

I'm here almost a month and find it very interesting the amount of "sales" people that ring the bell and cold call for service
Lately it seems like everyone on the block bought palm tress
off the back of a truck.
Seems odd..is this typical?

Welcome to the first month of living in The Villages. Remember ... don't buy anything on impulse. Think about what it is you need and then do your homework and price several.

Yep. They were in Sanibel last year. Remember never to buy from someone who rings your doorbell. That is how you get taken. Also, keep your garage door down and they will be less likely to ring your doorbell.

I agree. We had our turn in Hadley in 2008 and in Laurel Valley last year with both brand new homes.

Don't buy from them. Just say no, thank you.

They ride around and see who just moved in.

Some are o.k. but some are not. WAIT and see if you need this or that.

There are all kinds of scammy tests that they sucker you in on,,,showing poor water quality, saying no downspouts will cause termites, trying to sell you pest control, landscaping, lawn maintainance etc, etc, etc, Some you need and some you don't. But you don't need it right now and from them.

Ask first on this forum or ask someone you know who has lived here for awhile.

I thought there was a "no solicitation" policy in TV.
