Duke extended the shut down date until March. Don't know if it the first of March or the end. So far, nobody will take it over.

Here is what I know. The President of the Stonecrest Board of Directors has been working with Duke Energy to solve the problem. The last I heard from him was Duke has agreed to keep the path open as long as there were negotiations on some one taking over ownership. I have heard a few voices making the request that Stonecrest accept ownership. I can pretty much tell you what the residents here would say, No. I do not believe Walmart is keen to take it over. If I had to place a bet I would bet eventually the path will be closed off...... When, your guess is as good as mine. I would also suspect that Duke would post a date of exact closure so as not have the same thing happen as it did the first time. There was also some one here in Stonecrest trying to get the county to take it over using the Abandoned Road Statutes. However I do not hold any faith in that attempt because the original path was never a legal road in the beginning. The march 1st date is a new one to me. Just have to wait and see.

Good Insight.
