Yes, golf carts can be dangerous and fatalities have occurred while being in one. However, if driven safely, carefully and sanely, the risks are not that high. Maybe you should try the MYOB rule and not be so quick to try and wreck other people's pleasure.

You and anyone else who thinks chatbrat should MYOB can keep your heads in the sand. Sooner of later you'll run out of oxygen.

Chatbrat, you were right to say something to them, maybe they will rethink their actions and save their children from a serious possible injury.

However, with that said, I don't believe yelling instructions and your disproval of their actions will accomplish anything. Unless it's unlawful we can just hope for the best and pray that those kids aren't hurt.

If your child is not properly secured in your auto, it's against the law, endangering the life of a child. Why shouldn't it be the same or even more strict for a golf cart.

Especially when riding in diamond lanes

I did find this interesting. It is golf carts rules for Myrtle Beach, SC.

One of the rules:

Quote:

Do not carry children or
animals on your lap while operating
a golf cart.

As a former Firefighter/EMT, I can say I have never taken a dead child out of a car seat. I believe the OP meant to imply the child would be properly secured in the car. I cannot believe how many times I see people transporting their babies in what I call "the baby crusher position". Once the vehicle (car or golf cart) stops abruptly, whatever you are carrying between your body and the dashboard is going to be crushed.

Finally the unnamed online newspaper, could start posting pictures of unsafe acts in golf carts, instead of bad parking pics

Did they hear all you said.

I shouted if anything goes wrong those kids are going to get hurt @ best. My wife said-hope you guys are real strong.

If you got guests with infants leave the cart home--use your Car--the infants will never know what they were riding in.

Hopefully they heard all you said and it makes them thank about the possible tragedy that could happen. Too often it becomes a testosterone yelling match of egos.

when I see children in golf carts unprotected I wonder all day if they made their destination safely. We only have three grands and none to spare to an accident

They have a story of a dog that was in a golf cart, saw something interesting to chase, jumped out, and got run over by the dog owners' golf cart. Or something like that.

Yes, that's probably true, but it would be enforceable.

Have seen small dog thrown from cart on a sharp turn. Owner didn't even know till people started yelling at her.

Ohio people would not invite you to their next hamburger fry.

You have to wonder how some of these folks have escaped the gene pool's efforts to self correct for whatever gene is responsible for lack of common sense.

They are probably very unfamiliar with golf carts in a setting other than golf courses.

Can you see getting around in a golf cart in the streets of Columbus, Ohio; New York City; Tampa; Las Vegas, or how about Los Angeles?
