After reading all of this we did not read in the online news OR the Daily Sun that anyone described in this incident had an accident.

So hats off to you, guardian angels everywhere, good old bunny feet and cussed good luck.

Another day, another adventure.

In todays society it can be extremely dangerous to confront someone on or off the road. You don't know if the other person has a gun. In a split moment your life and the lives of those who love you can take a drastic turn. Don't be foolish and let your anger get the best of you, think about what your doing and weather you are willing risk what you have for someone else that you don't even know.

We've all been in situations where someone cut you off, tail gates, slams on the brakes, etc. And we have all seen red and want revenge. I know when that happens to me my better half knows I'm boiling over and takes steps to calm me down. "It's not worth it, are you willing to give your life and possibly mine just to get even with that jerk." "Worse, you can disable both of us for the rest of our lives, is this what you want after we worked so hard for so many years to get where we're at." "Are you going to let them take that all away from us?" "Let's stop and get a nice cup of coffee and a donut and talk about what we have planned."

Many years ago I saw two guys getting into it at a stop light, both emerged from their car with a gun, one guy had a young child in the car. The situation was defused by a off duty deputy. Think of what could have happened and how many lives would have been destroyed.

And, let's not forget the person in this thread that yelled at someone he doesn't know carries a weapon. This situation could have easily been tragically different. The other cart driver could have taken offense to a man and woman yelling at his/her family. A confrontation could have endued, and someone could have been hurt or killed.
As the OP stated in another thread, a guy was shot in Tampa because he threw popcorn on someone, like that was justified. I have two thoughts on this matter. If you see someone who you believe is endangering a child, call the police. And, if you are carrying a concealed weapon, keep a low profile and don't risk a confrontation with anyone.

I completely agree with this. Those that choose to carry, surely hold a responsibility to us all to avoid confrontation. And, especially, never start one. So we have a situation where someone carrying chose to take matters into his own hands when he saw a situation that he did not like. Where have we heard of this before? Oh yea. Right here in Florida a couple of years ago.

This happened last September in The Villages, I've deleted the man's name and deleted some identifying information. This story comes from the online newspaper.

A 66-year-old Villages softball player is facing felony charges of assault and battery after he allegedly threatened a fellow Villager with a baseball bat when tempers flared on a golf cart path.

***** is accused of threatening a man over the age of 65 and striking his golf cart with the bat, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff‘s Office.

At the time of the incident on Sept. 11, ****** was wearing a logo that deputies were later able to connect to a Villages softball team.

A week after the incident, ****** opted to turn himself in at the Sumter County Sheriff‘s Annex.

On the day of the incident, ****** was coming out of a tunnel at Mariposa Way and Morse Boulevard. ****** was turning out of the tunnel when the victim blew his horn and informed ******* that he had just run a stop sign, the arrest report indicates.

******* then slammed on his brakes, got out of his cart, grabbed the victim by the arm and tried to pull him out of his golf cart. ****** returned to his cart, retrieved a baseball bat and, after taking a batting stance, threatened to hit the other Villager in the head. ****** then allegedly hit the man’s golf cart with the bat. The victim then drove to the Sheriff’s Annex to report the incident.

Tracing the logo to a local softball team, a deputy initially made contact with ******* by phone. He said he would like to personally apologize to the other man and make restitution for any damage done to the golf cart.

On Friday, Sept. 18, ****** was arrested on charges of assault on a person over the age of 65, battery on a person over the age of 65, and criminal mischief with damage to property.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $8,000 bond.

My Centiments

There's NOTHING that can get me "steaming" (to put it lightly) more than someone YELLING at me for something that does not concern "them". Glad to see there are more than one of me... :beer3:

So, what do you yell at people in cars with children? Have not heard of one incident where a child has died in a golf cart accident here. Children die in cars daily. Yes, golf carts can be dangerous and fatalities have occurred while being in one. However, if driven safely, carefully and sanely, the risks are not that high. Maybe you should try the MYOB rule and not be so quick to try and wreck other people's pleasure.

And so we have the voice of reason. Thank You Snowbird22154. To The OP....It's better if you live your life, sounds like that should keep you busy, and leave others alone so they can live theirs. And I think, I'm not sure, if you do carry don't tell us all that "we shoot" as that could be taken as a veiled threat. I don't have to own a gun because I mind my own business and those around me who carry would protect me since I don't mind theirs. The real Caped Crusader is the one who can control their mouth. :super:

I doubt if there are many golf cart drivers in the Villages packing heat who are ready and willing to use these weapons over some rude words.

A middle finger would be a much more common response to this kind of motherly advice coming from another golf cart driver. Or maybe a #$%$ *&^!

I completely agree. My concern is when you add the element of a hero-wanna-be and things can get ugly very quickly. Only a tiny fraction of us fit that, but it only takes one.

Thanks for letting us know that you have a short fuse. Therapy may help you.

As for me, I will continue to let people know when they are putting the lives or safety of others at risk. Where that heck would society be if everyone took the MYOB path. I am however selective, based upon the situation. Always have an out.
Remember the "Good Samaritan" law on a Seinfeld episode.

Unfortunately children seldom have a voice when their irresponsible parents allow or take them into dangerous situations.

Apples and Oranges. There's a big difference between rendering first aid, and being a busybody.
