Default FINALLY, a vet that we feel good about and thanks to totv .

We have taken our golden, Max to the U of Fl. 6 times for x-rays and ultra sounds for follow ups from thyroid cancer surgery he had at Purdue University. We have had him to 2 local vets in The Villages for blood work and check ups for the last 2 years and we have never had the feeling that he was getting the care he deserved until today. I took him to Dr. Valdez in Leesburg today based on info that I got on TOTV and I was impressed with the care that he received. Very professional and thorough. I would highly recommend him.

You have found the two best vets in this area, in my opinion. Dr. Manganaro at that location is our vet and has gotten our 14-year-old golden through many a rough spot that nobody else could figure out. And we've seen and liked Dr. Valdez for our fosters and cockatiel.

Here's another thing I like about Dr. Valdez--his common sense. We fostered a 15-yr-old Golden. One day I noticed his inner eye covering on one was not closing all the way, so a quarter inch of it was visible on his eye. The rescue group wanted me to haul him to an eye specialist outside of Tampa. This sweetheart was not in any apparent pain but quite rickety, so I asked to take him locally first before subjecting him to two long car rides.

Dr. Valdez checked him over and said it's not going to cause a problem, he's not in pain, he's almost 16, just let him be. He gave me some eye drops to keep the area moist. A common-sense solution. Quincy lived to be 16, and the eye covering never budged or caused a problem.

He owns the Village Vet, but Dr. Valdez only practices at Park Heights. If you want to see him you go to Fruitland Park.

I find in general the level of quality here is less for both vets and human doctors! There are some gems here but hard to find .

Could you please provide me with more specific information, like the name of the practice or a phone number? My puppy is having an issue and I’m spending hundreds of dollars with no real result.

Default Vet at Colony

We have been using Dr. Drum at Colony Veterinary since he opened his practice and have been very happy with him. He is thorough and spends a lot of time explaining and offering alternatives. We have 4 senior cats and all are doing well under his care.

Right. It's not just about quality of the vet, the staff is critical too. Dr. Manganaro (Park Heights Animal Care on 441/27) in Fruitland Pk. is terrific AND her staff is terrific to communicate with too.
