Bobcat in The village of Charlotte
We were just informed last night of the 3rd siting of a bobcat walking the wall in Lauren Villlas in Charlotte. My husband was the first to spot it in the early morning hours, in our villa back yard after our cat. His dog scared it off. Someone else thought they saw a feral cat on the wall a few days later. The wall is too high for a cat to jump... Then last night about 5:45, another sighting on the same wall, between Lauren villas on Knightsbridge and Belcherry Loop. Please beware of your surroundings, especially in the morning and evening ours. Our cat now is confined to the lanai and birdcage, and not happy...Better safe than sorry!

Lots of various wildlife in The Villages. The bobcat you saw is pretty well-known in the area. He prefers to be called Robert.
Not a good idea to have your cat walking around your yard. Always chances for large hawks or venomous snakes to be in the area. Cats also do not need much of a space to squeeze through in order to get out of a yard. |

Normally the cat is In the pool area under the birdcage, but everyone who has cats knows they can be "sneaky" and she ran out with the dog...Was almost her last time to be sneaky as she was hiding under a chair and the bobcat had come off the wall. She did not leave the house for days...

Bobcats I'm comfortable around as many lived in or beside our yards in SW Florida...the Florida Panther is another thing but they don't come around built up areas much. We went to Badcock Ranch to see the panthers in a huge pen and on the outside was a wild real Florida panther. The guide got all excited, most of the rest of us instantly realized we were also on the outside of the pen but he didn't bother with us....good thing. The males are huge.
