Default Eisenhower Rec Center

Has anyone seen the video of the Eisenhower Rec Center? It brought tears to my eyes. All I can say is thank you Morse family. Sorry I can't post it here.

Last week we went to the Eisenhower rec center and it is beautiful. Thanks to all of the vets that donated some of their memories of the wars. I found myself looking for my father in some of the pictures. Wonderful tribute to the servicemen that served our country and a great place to show guests . Thank you for making this rec center a tribute to our servicemen past and present.

Perhaps in addition to thanking mr. Morse - perhaps we should all send very LARGE thank you's to all the wonderful Men and Women who proudly served in our military services - they are the "STUFF" of the Eisenhower Center!

Not enough praise can be given to the "Greatest Generation" and all of the military. IMHO

It brings a thought for Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, "No Ordinary Time".

I can't wait to see it myself. Maybe this week coming up, I'll make a trip down there!!!

What a wonderful tribute! My buttons are popping off my shirt from the joy I'm experiencing in seeing the video. I'm so grateful to be moving into Collier at the end of this month; and in walking distance to Eisenhower. Thank you Tony Phillips for sending the video included with your seasons Greetings. (or are the buttons popping from too much pasta?)

Saw the video and it brought tears to my eyes.

Have always felt a deep sense of gratitude for the military and their service and sacrifice.

It also made me cry to think of what it must mean to those living there who have served and to know that it is a memorial and so well done.

Reminds me of when I took my dad to see the WWII memorial in Wash DC, he served in the Pacific theatre. It was very precious to see his reaction to it.

Can't wait to see when we come in April.

Currently at the Eisenhower Rec Center in the different rooms on the tables is a 4 page flyer the size of the Rec News, the whole back page is a list of names of people who have donated the items on display. Some of the items are hand written letters from loved ones in the service, priceless treasures.

This is another video I found. It is produced by The Villages and has personal interviews.

This rec center should be a museum it is so well put together. Bless everyone involved for showing our heroes how much they are loved. It does bring tears to your eyes and we are so proud to to have this in our community.
