Default Electronics Recycling at LSL

I read with interest the huge turnout for this event. I'm glad we're recycling vs filling up the landfills. My question is what happens to all of that stuff...is anything saved, reused, etc?

Just curious.....

I don't know if this is what happens to the things collected yesterday, but I saw a program on TV that showed a company that collects all electronic waste. They dismantle CRT TVs and monitors to take out the tube, then the guts along with other material is crushed. They have a means to separate the different metals as the crushed parts go along. They then melt the various metals into ingots. The crushed plastic can be recycled into new plastic parts.
