Default Is the pollen bad down there?

I was thinking of coming down for the weekend just to get away from the worst pollen count we've had in a long time.
Then I looked at Pollen.com and see that it's about as bad down there?
It's so bad here, that I hose off my car and within an hour, it's covered again.

There's pollen here, too. The glass tops on the tables in my lanai are a light shade of yellow green from whatever the heck is in bloom around my yard. Hasn't bothered me too much, so far, but hubby is on his daily dose of Claritin. Does the pollen bother you? We'd love you to come down.

I'm one of the lucky ones who has zero reaction to pollen. I was going to bring my parents because the air is so bad right now my mom is using her oxygen all day long. I was already coming down the last weekend of the month so I think I may hold off until then.

I'd say the pollen is not "better" or "worse", it's different. When you are exposed to new histamines, your body reacts and needs time to build up resistance. There is a fair amount of visible pollen at different times of the year here. Moving here from Connecticut, I do sometimes need to take claritin or benedryl, but it's just a minor inconvenience.

Yeah, I'd say the pollen here is bad right now. Maybe not as bad as your describing up north but my nose runs constantly and I'm still coughing a lot. Take daily dose of allergy meds, so can't imagine how bad it would be if I didn't take them.

I would say yes, it is bad. My sinuses are bad and my furniture is coated in green.

Default Local Honey

Has anyone tried taking a teaspoon/day of local honey for allergies? I've heard it desensitizes you to local pollen, I've just been taking it for a couple of days though. Any success stories?
