Default Question about home business?

The Talk Host's post on liability for private airport transportation in another forum prompts another related question.

If a Villager owned a limosuine, was properly insured and licensed, could he keep the limo in his garage in the Villages. Could he accept reservations at home? Would it make a difference if he used his big 4-door Caddy or Lincoln instead of a limo?

Where is the bright line for home businesses in TV. If you are not violating the rules and covenants by operating a computer based business in your Villages home, or an interior decorating service, etc., would a home based limo service be precluded? Where is the bright line?

I don't own a limo. Just curious on a rainy day.

I believe you can run a business out of your home, you just can't have your clients come to your home on business. There may be more to it than that, but a lot of people run business' out of their homes that are not computer based. So, I would say, unofficially, a limo in your driveway or garage would be fine.

Running a business from one's home is not only restricted by covenants it is restricted by county and state codes.
Most businesses must be licensed. Most county codes prevent running a business from a residence.
The biggest threat to someone running a business from a residence is a ticked off customer. All they have to do is report the illicit business to county code enforcement and they will find out they are in big trouble. The county can come down on them much more severely than VCCD deed enforcement.
Anyone contemplating running a business from home should check with all governing bodies.

Neat bumper sticker. Went like this: "It's God's job to judge terrorists. Our job is to arrange the meeting!"

Be a gentleman, remove your hat/cap when entering a building and dining out!
