Perhaps, like my view of the villages. I have two weeks-HURRY UP AND RELAX. Hopefully you will have more than seven days and will be able to do a self tour as well. They have extensive public transportation-the under ground is famous. I found it interesting that they sort of deny WWII. The tower of London you are impressed as they tell you this is 600 years old etc. We have nothing in the US that old. Ask quietly and you will be told that was rebuilt in 1962 etc. Beware, they drive on the LEFT and think it is RIGHT. Takes a while to get used to it-hopefully without getting run over. |

Just so you "know before you go", the central part of the Tower of London - the White Tower - was built around 950 years ago by William the Conqueror. Obviously there have been additions and repairs since then, but saying it was rebuilt in 1962 sounds like the Beefeater was having a bit of fun
![]() There are plenty of UK companies offering organized tours and, with the utility of the internet and your credit card, you would be well-advised to use one of them, rather than a travel agent local to The Villages. The cost of tours will vary enormously depending on the quality of the accommodation used, so your choice of company will be dictated to some extent by your budget. England may be small compared to the USA but there is a lot to see, and seven days to do the lot would be exhausting and barely scratch the surface. I would advise choosing a smaller area to cover and enjoy a more relaxed in-depth trip. Last edited by Arctic Fox; 03-04-2022 at 03:50 PM. |

I live in UK. and would say It all depends what your interest are, as to what I would recommend for an itinerary.
Seven Days is a very short time to see much without specifics. |

Coach tours tend to go to the same places, and these are likely to be the places that may be of interest to you, so I have high hopes that you can find a tour that suits. One other thing to bear in mind: school holidays. Going during term time will be much more enjoyable and could well be cheaper, too. |

As a possible alternative we did a 10 day cruise around the British Isles and loved it. Obviously will only see the parts around the coast but so much to see and do.
BTW when we did it we spent several days in London before the cruise. |

American Express
Sailed Cunard from NYC to Southhampton. AMEX took care of everything, including transportation to and from London. While in London took a tour to Liverpool |
