And the crossing to which you refer creates huge cart backups due to the steady stream of unbroken traffic coming off of the roundabout.

It's really a scam for the developers to make more money. Every time you go thru the gate, a dollar is subtracted from your amenity fee and put into their pockets! If you go through more that 145 times a month...there goes your free golf!
Seriously, is your life really that hectic that you can't wait two seconds???

Hi TV Mayor: Do you suppose that hole in the wall was suddenly walled off and then because of a few, gated, was done as a lark?

Why is it that the vast majority of residents applaud the Developer's genius but then complain about the gate system? Did the Developer have a senior moment here?

And what does it say about people's driving habits who crash through these gates? Are they distracted? inpatient?

The gates are separated as to resident/visitors because residents have gate passes and do not need attention while visitors need assistance and perhaps directions from gate keepers.

The gates are a welcoming sight, useful and adds to our security

Some just don't want to be confused by the facts. When I was working people often told me , "I think......". My reply was always, "don't tell me what you think, tell me what you know."

I know the gates were not put there as a lark....they serve a purpose!

Rubicon,
You are right. The gates are value-added. They are one of the many intangibles that have drawn us here and support property values that are based upon more than replacement cost and comps.

When a gate gets knocked down and I can drive straight through, I feel cheated.

You are right in the drivers here could be more courteous...as could diners, shoppers, etc. Just sayin'
LET ME OFFER AN IDEA TO THOSE WHO POSTED COMMENTS THAT THE EXIT GATES ARE A METHOD TO SLOW TRAFFIC. I WOULD SUGGEST WE DO AWAY WITH THE EXIT GATES AND REPLACE THEM WITH A NOT TOO HARSH SPEED BUMP. THIS WILL ALLOW A CONTINUOUS FLOW OF TRAFFIC AND AT THE SAME TIME DEFINATELY SLOW THE TRAFFIC.

Thank heavens that the homeowners don't run things.

I agree! Particularly the homeowners who apparently always get up on the wrong side of the bed.

To gate or not to gate, that is the question.

It is a welcome distraction. I no longer lie awake all night fretting about the Stonecrest invasion.
