We’re considering purchasing a home in TV to spend our winter months. I would like to know if I would be able to golf up to five times a week including the busy months. Preferably I would be golfing twice a week on an executive course with my wife and two to three times a week on a championship course (as a single if I have to). I’m flexible with tee times. Is this possible?
Thank you. |

I know golfers here that golf almost every day. There are always tee times available on the championship courses later in the day and you do not need to be priority. Executive courses can be more of a challenge in high season, but it is doable if you are very flexible with you time and schedule. You much of the time will play as a single joining a 2-some or 3-some.

Points on Executives don’t count against you on Championships and vice versa. No problem on Championships getting t times. If only playing twice a week on Executives, there will be little to no problem getting times for you and your wife if you put in requests with a wide time window and multiple courses.

That should not be a problem on championship for sure. Even in high season always room for a single. As far as executive as long as your flexible with times and courses won’t be a problem.

I can easily golf 4-5 executive courses as a single even during peak periods using the golf tee off reservation system. Usually 2 by making a request and then 2-3 more by calling 2 days before to find available tee off times that haven't been filled.
Not a big deal if you're flexible about expanding your search to at ideally at least 8-10 courses. |

The courses have a points system for making reservation "requests" a week in advance and your place in the que is determined by your points (your number of plays in the previous week plus punishment points). Those reservations are doled out 3 days in advance. The left overs are not subject to points and are open to all residents.
Championship and Executive courses have their own points. Suggest you subscribe to thevillages.net at $8/mo to get a complete list of available tee times starting 3 days in advance and you can make your tee time(s) reservations. Points do not count for the 3 day window. You can also place your requests up to a week in advance. |

Most likely, you will meet a group and get added to their game. I am still working, so I get the 7:30AM tee time - I almost always can get a time 1 or 2 days prior to playing. Executives are tough, but you should be okay 2 times a week. |

"Left-over Tee Times" are subject to points. Not when booking them, but you are charged points for using them. At least that's the case with the Championship Courses.

That is true. Points do not count against you when you make the reservation, but they do go into your account and count against you if you make a request.
