It seems like when people move here they adopt a developer decides and supplies all for us forever attitude.

Buc-ees set to open new location in central Florida
They do make an awesome brisket sandwich.

Don’t desire any franchise fast food places - would like to see an awesome mom-and-pop taqueria that serves authentic street tacos. Also, a place that serves real good breakfast burritos (homemade salsa, green chili, guacamole, etc)

I believe in free market capitalism. Let the market decide.

Years before we moved to The Villages, we'd come down to Florida on vacation. This often involved going to Miami and south into the Keys to snorkel. We'd always stop at ZooMiami on the way and eat at the Pollo Tropical and though their lean, grilled chicken was just about the best fast food you could buy. Crispy, moist, tasty and nearly salt-free. Yum! The only things close to it were similarly-cooked chick at Ya-Ya's Chicken in Michigan or El Pollo Loco in Arizona.

We moved here several years ago and have tried Pollo Tropical locations a few times around Orlando and found the chicken to nearly always be tiny pieces of greasy chicken. I don't know if those particular locations we tried just aren't up to the national standards or if ZooMiami was just a cut above (much how I feel the Sonny's BBQ in Lake Sumter is better than any other Sonny's location I've ever been to) or if the whole chain has just gone downhill.

That said, if another fast food chain were to come to the area, I would like it to be something other than the chains currently represented, if just for the variety.

why is it that no one get's the picture? Clermont is as close as it will get. TV doesn't fit their preferred site profile.

If I'm looking to shop for anything, especially a quick stop for food, I don't want to have to go to a huge store and wait in line. I honestly don't get the big excitement with these huge big box stores..Just saying.

Whining or suggesting here doesn’t do any good. Start a letter/email campaign to the franchise departments or CEO of company you want to come here. Enough letters will entice them to look into it
Capitalism lessons.

1, Free market decides what consumers want and will pay for it.

2. If enough people want something, an individual or group of entrepreneurs will risk their money to provide the service/product if they can make a profit off the price point the consumer is willing to pay.

3. If you aren’t willing to risk your own money, no reason to whine about others not risking their money

4. Those wanting the the developer to do it. They are just a group of entrepreneurs see rule 3.

5. Those that think government from tax dollars should do it. That is socialism/capitalism and leads to any government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have away.

Every business is limited by whether they have customers or not. Vote with your wallet.

The population density isn’t here to support a Costco in The Villages. There will be one close in Clermont soon.
