Default Favorite off campus restaurant

What are your favorite places off campus to eat. We are looking for good food, not fancy and not a franchise. Now that it is getting a bit crowded at our TV places, it would be fun to try some others, thanks.

Smile Off Campus Restaurants!

Stumpknockers! Located in Inverness or the original location which I consider to be the best on Hwy 200 West of Ocala...!

I enjoy going to Crackers in Chrystal River for sea food and being on the water. If you don't mind about an hour drive which is actually a very nice drive. Route 44 west past Inverness to the west coast. You'll come to Route 19, turn right (north) and Crackers is on the left about within a mile.
Sets on the water, casual atmosphere and good food. It's nice to get outside the bubble now and then. This is a favorite of both Villages motorcycle clubs. These clubs always eat outside The Villages because we love to ride, and can recommend dozens of great places to eat near and far.

Default Off site Dining

Try:

Harbor Lights Restaurant
(352) 793-7058

Lake Panasoffkee
907 County Rd 439B
Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538

They advertise in the Village Sun. About a 30 minute ride and worth it. Nice setting on the lake.

Home style Buffet. We like Thursday nights. Roast Turkey, Ham and Beef sliced to order. Home made mashed potatoes, shrimp, stuffing, veggies, and more. Soup to start and limited desserts to finish. Thursday night costs about $11.00 Friday & Saturday a little more. Added selections make it worthwhile, but we like Thursday best.

Fruitland Cafe for breakfast, but be prepared to wait or else don't go.

Haven't been there is a while but have always enjoyed Goblin Market in Mt. Dora. (You may have to ask to find it - located down an alley.)

I've hesitated to try Gator Joe's. i know the ambiance is quirky, but I'm afraid the food might be quirky too?
